What Is BodyTite?

BodyTite is a procedure that utilizes radiofrequency (RF) thermal energy to reduce fat and tighten the skin. It helps improve your skin’s laxity caused by weight loss or aging. BodyTite is minimally invasive, and it shapes, contracts, and lifts target areas without major incisions or resulting scarring.

The results are comparable to surgery without prolonged downtime. We all strive to look and feel our best. Diet and exercise are the cornerstones of a healthy and attractive body, but sometimes insufficient for the type of body we want, that’s when BodyTite can bring you the results you work so hard for.

Is BodyTite Right for Me?

The ideal candidates for BodyTite treatments are in good overall health, and those who are close to their ideal weight, but struggle to eliminate specific pockets of excess fat with traditional methods of fat reduction.

During your initial consultation, our provider will explore all options for body contouring and determine the best option for you. We can also recommend procedures that will complement your BodyTIte results, like FaceTite.

What Areas Can Be Treated?

BodyTite works almost anywhere you need; your stomach, arms, chest, knees, and inner/outer thighs are some of the most common treatment zones. Multiple areas can be treated in one visit. Each zone will take approximately 15 minutes to treat. BodyTite gently treats fat in stubborn areas while tightening the skin, helping you sculpt your body into the ultimate shape you desire.

When Will I See Results?

You will see improvments immediately, and the best results become noticeable after six weeks. Your body will continue to look better over the next 12 months. Depending on the treatment area, downtime ranges from two to ten days.

How does skin tightening work?

Have you ever had a sweater get stretched out, or maybe you've lost weight, and now the sweater is too large. How can you get it to fit again? You can bring it to the tailor to alter it; but, if it's not too loose, you can also put it in the dryer. The heat from the dryer will make the natural fibers shrink. Your skilled plastic surgeons at The Spiegel Center are the 'tailors.' A facelift, neck lift, eyelid lift (blepharoplasty), tummy tuck, breast lift, and arm lift are the type of procedures that would help your skin fit better if it is gotten too loose or saggy. If you are not ready for surgery, your skin can also be tightened with energy, the “dryer method” in this analogy. Energy helps the skin tighten, making you look healthier and more youthful. Morpheus8, FaceTite, and BodyTite transfer tightening energy into the skin, without damaging your skin or requiring extended downtime.

What were the older methods of skin tightening and how do they compare to BodyTite/FaceTite?

There are several ways to tighten your skin. Creative companies keep innovating new ways to do it. We have chosen Morpheus 8 and Bodytite / Facetite by InMode. The key is in control. We want to apply just the right energy for the most effective and appropriate skin tightening, without any complications. The InMode technology allows for continual review and control of the energy delivery. Because we are actively measuring it, we can ensure safety and top results to make you look the best you can be.

What is BodyTite/FaceTite like?

The doctor will mark the area you want to tighten, reduce, and reshape. Then, a small amount of numbing medicine is injected into the skin. A needle (like typically used for a blood test) is placed at a precise location; through the needle, some additional numbing solution is placed which is barely noticeable. Once that's done, the BodyTite or FaceTite probe is inserted through the same needle, and energy is administered. As the energy goes in you'll hear a lot of beeping from the computer, and maybe some popping sounds as excess fat melts and your skin contracts. Afterwards, your doctor may do a bit of liposuction to remove melted fat for a quicker recovery. Finally, a light compressive bandage is applied (like an ace wrap or Spanx) for several days. Your appearance will continue to get better for six months, but you'll likely see an improvement in just a few days.

Any side effects?

By far, the most common side effect with Morpheus 8, FaceFite, or BodyTite is minimal bruising. You'll likely see a red 'pimple' where the probe was inserted for a little while. This red area of thickened skin can take time to go away and can be expedited with small steroid injections. There is always the chance for muscle or nerve weakness, asymmetry, a burn, or other problems. Fortunately, these are uncommon and tend to resolve quickly.

What are pre/post op things to know?

Before this (and almost any) procedure it is best to avoid aspirin or ibuprofen (and similar medications) for at least 10 days, as these can increase the risk of bleeding. It is important to tell your doctor about any health conditions and medications you take, and whether you smoke or vape as those can interfere with healing for all procedures. Afterwards, expect to look like something happened (swollen and bandaged) for a couple of days. And, remember, the best results appear at 6 months or after!
