Mind the Gap and Fit or Fat

It used to be that fitness and weight were directly associated. If you had curves, or a little cushioning, you couldn’t be considered to be in shape. Fortunately, scientific knowledge has progressed and it is now recognized that you can be in good cardiovascular condition even with some extra weight.
However, sometimes even if you are fit, you may feel fat. Many people have a “problem” spot that just won’t go away. The double chin, the belly pouch, the “bra” fat on the upper back, or the inner thighs are common spots that can be difficult to eliminate with exercise alone.
So, how do we get rid of these problem areas that prevent us from presenting to ourselves and others how fit we really are?
There are several options:
(1) Fat freezing. Using very cold temperatures on a specific problem area, we can permanently kill the fat cells and get a 20% reduction in size. Fat freezing is completely noninvasive. No needles, no stitches. No special garments.
(2) Liposuction. With liposuction we actually vacuum away the unwanted fat cells. A small cannula (thin metal tube) is passed under the skin typically with local anesthesia. Liposuction is time tested and effective. You’ll need to wear a compressive dressing (like “Spanx”) over the treated area for a while as you heal into shape.
(3) BodyTite. Here an even smaller thin probe is passed under the skin and unwanted fat melts while your skin is simultaneously shrunk to fit your new svelte shape. It’s done under local anesthesia, no stitches are required, and it’s incredibly effective.
So, if your inner thighs touch and you want a thigh gap, you can mind the gap. Problem areas are no problem for us.
