Liposuction is a permanent fat reduction procedure. Yes permanent. Fat cells located under the skin are mechanically removed using a vacuum. The fat (lipo) is literally suctioned away. The vacuum attachments are called cannulas and are quite narrow. That’s why the procedure can be done with only a tiny poke rather than a big incision. To make this procedure comfortable and practically bloodless, a special solution, called tumescent, is infused under the skin just before the fat is removed. This lets the unwanted fat come out easier, reduces bruising, and keeps everything painless. So far so good! But, liposuction has its limitations. Liposuction won’t tighten your skin and doesn’t work well for tough areas such as upper back and bra rolls.

That’s where BodyTite comes into play. BodyTite is a minimally invasive body contouring procedure powered by radio frequency energy which melts fat and tightens the skin. That’s right, this device can actually tighten the skin and shrink wrap your skin onto your newly svelte body. The result is a smoother and tighter appearance.

Unlike other technologies, BodyTite uses a powerful computer to continually measure temperatures both under the skin and on the skin surface. This allows just the right amount of energy to be introduced for maximum skin tightening with minimal risk of injury. With this new radiofrequency approach we can achieve predictable and consistent results, melting stubborn fat pockets while stimulating skin tightening. You’ll get the shape you wanted with tighter skin and a sexier, healthier look.

But, (there’s always a but, right?), this unbeatable treatment is not the best plan if you’ve got a very large amount of loose skin. Maybe you are lucky enough to the be the mother of a large brood, or you’ve lost a lot of weight. If you have lots of excess skin, even if we shrink it, the results may not be good enough. That’s when we consider a tummy tuck. The tummy tuck, or more accurately an abdominoplasty, is done by hiding a thin incision along the line of your favorite underwear or bathing suit bottom. Then, the extra skin is removed and underlying muscles are tightened to restore your body to it’s youthful self. A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure with a longer, but still very manageable, recovery period and it is the right solution for the right person.
