If you read part 1 of our wonderful series you will love part 2. The wonderful 30’s age group is a great age to be, some women say their thirties was the best time of their lives!  I refuse to accept the thirtieth-birthday cliché that once you’re thirty, you’re officially “old.” However, some women actually feel this way.  You wake up on your thirtieth birthday, look in the mirror and see signs of aging when, just days before, weren’t there.  Why do we feel this way even though we are technically at our physical prime?  Thirties are different for everyone but one thing is for sure, we all have to maintain a healthy regime in order to prevent damage to our skin and future wrinkles from occurring.  Here are a few tips to reinvent your look in your thirties.

Let’s start off with our largest organ, our skin:

Our skin is our protector.  It’s stain resistant, waterproof and is comprised of millions of tightly compacted epidermis cells.  As we age, we lose collagen in our skin which creates wrinkles.   Now you’re in your thirties; stop tanning, smoking and damaging your skin because if you don’t, you WILL age prematurely.  Your “end of the day” routine should be comprised of washing, toning, and moisturizing.  Most importantly, wash your make up brushes daily, at the very least, weekly to prevent breakouts.  (Yes, you can still break out in your thirties!)

Next, start preventing signs of aging with Botox and Fillers

Botox and Fillers are no longer meant for women in their forties and fifties.  Nowadays we’ve realized that if you start treating our skin to a simple injection of Botox and Fillers at a younger age, you can prevent future wrinkles from occurring.  Of course you can’t “overdo” this when you’re as young as thirty, you don’t want to look “frozen” or appear to look “unnatural.”  A good plastic surgeon will listen to you, give you a natural subtle look and they won’t inject too much.  Just like they say in cooking, “you can always add but you can’t take away.”   Start with a simple injection of Botox and go from there.   Discuss your goals in detail with your plastic surgeon, every patient is unique.  Some want a subtle natural look and others want a more dramatic look.  Figure out you goals and trust that your surgeon will know what’s best for you.

Lastly let’s take about the most important step which is maintaining your health and well-being in your 30’s:

As you probably already know, taking care of yourself is important especially in your thirties.  Your body is slowly changing and each person’s needs are unique.  Stress, unhealthy eating and lack of vitamins can have a negative effect on your skin and overall well-being.  Between work, kids, stress and friends, our thirties is a busy, stressful yet wonderful time so maintaining a good balance is essential to keep yourself looking and feeling great.  Some simple rules of thumb that are important in your thirties is make sure you’re taking vitamins, eating vegetables, exercising, sleeping well and find some time in your day to relax.  For some, this may be difficult with all life has to offer but these factors are essential in maintaining a youthful appearance for years to come.
