3 Ways to Look 10 Years Younger in 10 Minutes
“How?” you ask. “How could I possibly look 10 years younger in merely 10 minutes?” I’m sure most people have watched commercials advertising various facial creams, lotions, serums and scrubs that claim to turn back the clock. All while showing a beautiful model with porcelain, glowing, almost “doll like” skin. The truth of the matter is; there is no topical (on top of the skin) skincare product that will give you the results that you see on TV. Yes, good skin care is an essential part of a good anti-aging regimen however, if you’re looking for instant results like reduced wrinkles, plump lips, beautiful high cheek bones and a glowing look to your skin all you need to do is make an appointment with your board certified plastic surgeon.
Aging occurs from many factors. Loss of collagen in the skin, hormone changes, free radicals in the air, and from daily muscle contraction in the face. Because we can’t simply stop using the muscles in our face Botox was invented. (Thank goodness!) Botox works by blocking the nerve impulses to the injected muscle. The areas typically injected with Botox are the lines in between your eyebrows (the “glabella”), forehead lines, and the smile lines around the eyes (“crows feet.”) Since every person’s muscle activity is different; each individual’s results can vary. Once injected it may take up to 7 days for you to see the actual results but after the Botox starts working you will notice a big difference in your skins texture, your wrinkles will have disappeared and you can start your day looking fresh faced and beautifully rejuvenated.
If Botox is for the upper part of the face (eyes, forehead and frown lines between the brows), think of Juvederm for the lower part of your face (wrinkles around your mouth, nose and lips.) Juvederm is made of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is something your body naturally produces and the loss of that creates wrinkles. Juvederm is a safe, pain free and effective way to replace the HA that your skin has lost over the years in order to bring back that smooth youthful look you’ve always dreamed of. For those of you who would like beautiful plump lips, Juvederm can also be injected into the lips!
Since Botox is injected into the upper part of the face, Juvederm into the lower part of the face, Radiesse will be injected into your cheeks during your visit to ensure your youthful, refreshed look is complete. Radiesse is also a filler like Juvederm however, with calcium based microspheres and gel that makes up the product Radiesse can actually help you rebuild the collagen in your skin. Radiesse acts like a scaffold under the skin providing a foundation to stimulate your own collagen. “But what result will I get in my 10 minute office visit?” you ask. As we age, we lose volume in our face. By using Radiesse in your cheeks you can bring back that fresh, plump, beautiful look that you had as a youth.
The combination of products can vary based on the individual patient however most patients can see their result instantly (other than Botox which can take several days to activate.) You can think of these three products as an essential part of your anti-aging regime. With products that last for up to 1 year these products are worth every penny, especially if they can give each individual more confidence, a youthful “glowing” look, and can prevent future aging. By using the combination of Botox, Juvederm and Radiesse in one office visit you will most certainly look 10 years younger!
