Thighplasty/Thigh Lift Boston
It’s hard to have fun in the summertime if you’re feeling self-conscious about your thighs. Excess skin on the thighs, a lack of definition, and dimpling or contour irregularities can make you look out of shape and take away from your summer bod.
Many people try to tone their thighs with dieting and exercise. Unfortunately, these don’t always lead to the desired results. Luckily, we offer the thigh-lift procedure.
What’s the Purpose of a Thighplasty?
A thighplasty, also known as a thigh lift, addresses the appearance of your upper-leg contours. Age and weight loss can cause the thigh skin to sag, and stubborn fat pockets can also form. Aesthetic thigh issues like these can be very resistant to dieting and exercise.
With a thigh lift, you can see a dramatic reduction in sagging and volume, allowing you to enjoy a more beautiful appearance.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Thighplasty?
People who have a significant amount of excess skin and pockets of excess fat on their thighs are ideal candidates. Those who feel like these problems are making them look older and out of shape are right for the procedure.
It is important to remember that this procedure is not used for weight loss; rather, it is used for specific contouring of the thighs. And, of course, it’s important to be in good health for any surgical procedure. Smoking, vaping, and certain medications or medical conditions can interfere with your healing.
What Happens During a Consultation?
A consultation is an in-person or video meeting between you and the doctor allows you to communicate your goals and expectations for the surgery. It will also determine your candidacy, since the two of you can discuss whether or not the procedure is right for you.
Dr. Spiegel will go over the details of the procedure to help you better understand what is to come. Your medical history will be discussed, along with any allergies you have and any medications you are currently taking.
Types of Thigh lift
There are two main types of thigh lifts available depending on the results you seek:
Inner-Thigh Lift: Excess skin and fat are removed from the inner thighs. Typically, for this technique, an incision is made in the inner thigh near the pubic area and can be extended backwards under the buttocks
Outer-Thigh Lift: Excess skin and fat are removed from the outer thighs. This technique addresses the top outer part of the thigh region. This region is typically visible when wearing shorts, short skirts, and swimwear. The incision is made in the inner groin crease and extends over the side of the top of the thigh.
Recovery
The recovery process is fairly straightforward. When the surgery is finished, you will wear a post-surgical elastic compression garment to help reduce swelling and assure optimal healing. It is important that you arrange for a friend or family member to drive you home after the operation. You may need to stay home from work for a time, and you will need to avoid heavy exercise.
