We’re sure you have many great memories of your youth. Spring break vacations during college. Beach parties. Fun nights with new friends. Sometimes you get souvenirs of your adventures, but, not every oneis worth keeping. Are you still excited about those tattoos that you got at 1:00 am after a night of partying? If the answer is NO, you are one of the many people that think it’s time to get rid of that old ink.
Or, perhaps you love your art, but it’s time for something new. You many need to fade away some older designs to make space for your new love.
The solution is Laser Tattoo Removal at The Spiegel Center, no matter how big or small and for any color ink.
What is Tattoo Removal?
When you get a tattoo, ink is placed below the surface of the skin. That’s why it doesn’t just wash off. It’s also the reason why tattoo removal can be a difficult and time consuming process. But, lucky for you! New laser technologies can fade or eliminate your tattoos. Previously, it was thought that laser tattoo removal was only effective with black ink. However, the new Q-Switched Yag/KTP Laser attacks a wide array of colors for best effect.

Tattoo Removal Before & After
How is It Performed?
First we’ll talk about your goals. Which tattoos do you want gone? Which do you want faded? We’ll speak about your overall health so you can get the best result as quickly as possible. Tattoo removal will often be performed with a local anesthetic applied to the treatment area to make it as comfortable as possible. (We can even use local anesthetic that is injected if that is what you need.) The Q-Switched Yag/KTP laser then is used to send strong pulse of energy into the tattoo to heat up and shatter the tattoo ink. Tattoo removal may require multiple treatments, with the ink fading more and more each time.
What Can I Expect?
We recommended to keep cleaning the treated area following your laser treatment two to five times a day with a saline solution and then use an ointment such as Vaseline, Eucerin or Aquaphor. Ice helps too! This process is intended to reduce the formation of scabs, which can extend healing time. As mentioned, several treatments will probably be required to completely remove the tattoo.
