Much of the world we live in focuses on people’s external appearance. Some recent research statistics have shown that ageism in the workplace is a huge problem with almost one third of workers over the age of 45 reporting discrimination. With these kinds of statistics, more and more people are searching for ways to look younger than their chronological ages.

Freezing Time

Many of these people who are facing ageism in the workplace do not want to look like they are in their 20s again. Instead, they simply want to suspend the passage of time to keep them at a middle age look. This middle age look will let them compete with the new, younger generations that are just entering into the workplace from University. While they will still look younger, the look will remain natural.

Fresh Faced

Looking younger helps to improve confidence, energy and drive in many people. A younger face can make it seem as though a person is not only younger but fresher, more energetic and healthier. These qualities are all very prized by employers. Targeted Botox treatments can be done to retain a few strategic wrinkles and expression lines while giving the face an overall look of freshness. The remaining lines can help the face retain its look of maturity, experience and wisdom while Botox can help to erase the lines that may excessively age a person before their time.

Cosmetic Procedures

Many career women see regular Botox, laser peels and other cosmetic procedures as simply part of their routine to get ready for work. Older women are increasingly competing with those in their 20’s for the same jobs with the same qualifications. Companies often do not want to pay the large salaries that an experienced workforce may require. Whether employees are going through interviews to re-enter the workforce, to change jobs or simply trying to retain their job, having a younger looking appearance can be a huge benefit.

Perceived Age

Another reason why people may undergo Botox treatments or other cosmetic procedures is to change how they are perceived in the workplace. Some women have complained to cosmetic surgeons that their appearance is affecting how they are perceived by co-workers and boxes in the office. They may be seen as looking tired or even not concentrating because their eyes are drooping. Even though these same people may actually be at their peak performance levels, they can be seen as looking tired, uninterested in work and that they have lost their drive to work. This can drastically affect a person’s chances to get a raise or promotion.

With people becoming more lifestyle conscious and fitter, looking as old as they feel is becoming more important. Many people in their 40s and even 50s are fitter than they were in their 20s and 30s. Having Botox can help them to look the same way that they feel and may lead to more career advancements as well. Having small tweaks done can shave years off of a person’s appearance and help them appear more eager, energetic, healthy and awake.
