There is new type of cosmetic surgery procedure making it’s way into the industry and it doesn’t even require a knife. A new technology that has recently been introduced into the cosmetic surgery industry by a Boston based doctor at Harvard University revolves entirely around freezing the bodies fat cells. This fat freezing treatment can be done for a face lift procedure and even unwanted belly fat. According to ABC Health News this is becoming a very popular treatment for those who really don’t want traditional cosmetic surgery that requires cutting into the flesh and tissue with a surgical utensil.

“According to statistics released today by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 13.1 million minimally-invasive and surgical cosmetic surgeries were performed in the United States in 2010, up 5 percent from 2009. Along with many other industries, plastic surgery suffered in the economic downturn that began in 2008. The uptick in cosmetic procedures is the first since the recession began.”
