Hairy today? Smooth tomorrow!

Unwanted hair is one of those annoying facts of life. Maybe you’ve got too much on the arms, are tired of shaving or waxing your legs, want to get control of your bikini area or armpits, or have too much chest or back hair. Regardless of the location, there is a solution and it’s called Electrolysis and what’s more it’s approved as a permanent hair removal application. Unlike it’s close cousin, the Laser Hair Reduction.
Laser hair reduction can be great, and we have several different types of lasers that can remove hair by targeting the pigment (color) in the hair. When the laser catches the right color hair at the right time of hair growth, that hair goes away permanently. Laser is gentle on the skin and overall comfortable. But, laser has its limitations. It may require many sessions to get to your goal. And, if you’ve got very light or white hairs, laser can be less effective.
This is where electrolysis come in. Electrolysis is done by sliding a very thin wire along the hair shaft to its root (the hair follicle). Once in position, a small amount of current (energy) is used to kill the hair. Electrolysis requires a skilled technician using a strong magnifying glass! Many people choose to do electrolysis for stubborn hair on the lip, face, or by the groin. But, it can be uncomfortable. In the past, people had to come for many visits to clear hairy areas as it was hard to tolerate the long electrolysis sessions. But, no longer!
At TSC, our doctors can anesthetize the sensitive areas undergoing electrolysis with injectable lidocaine. You just sit back, relax, and enjoy knowing you’re getting rid of unwanted hair while checking your texts, listening to a podcast, or playing a game.
Electrolysis with anesthesia is the answer to Hair Removal.
