Man's side profile

You can work out, eat right, drink in moderation, and take vitamins but aging is inevitable. For many people, and men in particular, looseness of the neck is the first sign of aging.

Take Harrison Ford, for example. There’s a big difference in Han Solo’s neckline between Star Wars IV and Star Wars VII.  (There’s also 38 years that have passed.) Even Tom Cruise, in the recent movie Top Gun: Maverick, had neck folds and wrinkles as one of the few signs that he’s now in his late 50’s.

For both of these famous Hollywood faces, the skin has gotten looser as elasticity and collagen diminish. There can be fat pockets in the neck that grow, or start to sag. And, the platysma muscles (flat muscles across the front of the neck) start to sag and separate in the middle. This leads to neck bands, pockets, and neck lines that are accentuated when you tighten your jaw or tense your neck (like when you are going to lift something heavy).

A tight neck has always been a sign of youth, vitality, and attractiveness, but it is particularly in fashion right now. Video conferences (Zoom, Microsoft Meeting) and video calls (WhatsApp, Facetime, Skype) typically are done with cameras looking up at you from below. This brings the neck into clear focus, and highlights the concern of how a sagging neck represents you.

There are many ways to take care of this:

Morpheus 8

For fine lines and to prevent problems (yes – this is for you men in your 30’s, 40’s, and early 50’s) sign up for Morpheus 8.  Here, we’ll ask you to put a numbing cream onto clean skin. Then, the Morpheus 8 device uses small needles to place energy into the skin at the precise location and depth required. This energy acts to wind up collagen and causes the skin to get tighter. With some settings, fat under the skin can also be eliminated. It’s quick, comfortable, and has just a few hours of redness as the typical recovery. This one is a no-brainer. It can be used for all skin colors and tones, has limited downtime, slows signs of aging, and can be repeated over the years. Tighten your neck and prevent problems!

Botulinum (Botox)

If you have early banding, botulinum (Botox) can be the answer. A few quick injections will soften those lines and restore a smooth neck. Here, we relax the muscles so that the vertical tension lines and wrinkles are less sharp and defined. (Relaxed and undefined muscles are good for neck bands and forehead lines – we won’t be putting this in your biceps.)  To achieve this we apply a medication (Botox, Xeomin, Dypsort, or Jeuveau) to smooth out these lines through fine needle injections. It’s easy, quick, and effective.

Necktite

If you have some fullness and sagging, liposuction with Necktite ™ is the answer. Through a small poke under the chin excess fat is melted away, then cleared, and energy is put in to tighten and shrink the tissues. For the right person, this is like magic. Consider this: no stitches, limited recovery, done right in the office, and the skin continues to tighten over the next 6-12 months. The procedure requires three needle pokes and some numbing injection. Can we even call this surgery? Regular neck liposuction is almost a thing of the past thanks to technology like this.

Necklift

If you have a heavy neck, even in your 20’s, a deep neck lift (necklift) is the answer. We’ll make a small incision under your chin then tighten muscles and remove fat to contour your jawline. There is no skin removed and so there’s nothing to show you had surgery except your youthful profile. For younger people who want a more contoured jawline, and a defined, strong neck this is the answer. It takes about 90 minutes, and the results are sensational. This is a real game changer for people with full, fatty, and heavy necks but good skin. We may add a chin implant at the same time for a real model #snatched jawline.

Facelift

For the ultimate refresh, a facelift is the answer. We do a “Deep plane” face lift that lifts and restores muscles, fat, and tissues to a youthful position. Small incisions are hidden around the ears and hairline for a great result with minimal scarring. Two weeks of recovery and you’re back to looking great. Guys in their 40s, 50s, 60’s and beyond get a great second chance with this one. There is swelling, and typically some bruising. But, two weeks to look ten years or more younger? That’s an easy choice.

Chin and Jaw Implants

Lastly, maybe your skin is looking good, but your jaw is too small. We can enhance the chin and jaw with implants, genioplasty, and facial fillers to create a strong, masculine jawline that tightens the neck as a nice bonus.

That’s a lot of information. The point is – we’ve got you, men.  You don’t need to look like your father just yet. We’ve got answers that can get you a chiseled, youthful, energetic look with limited recovery. Email [email protected] to get your customized plan and get ready to start fresh!
