You may think of Botox as something that is supposed to erase years off of your appearance. The truth is that Botox treatments can also make you feel great in a number of ways.

Enhanced Self Esteem

Aside from reducing wrinkles, Botoxalso has the ability to improve your self-esteem. That’s because when you look your best, you will automatically feel more confident. Just knowing that others no longer notice deep creases in your brow or lines in your forehead can make you less self-conscious about meeting new people. It’s one of the leading reasons why a good number of people are now undergoing Botox injections just before a job interview or when suddenly finding themselves single and wanting to date again.

Eliminating Muscle Spasms

Many people, including those diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, suffer from tics or muscle spasms in the forehead area. Since Botox effectively freezes these muscles (which is how it eliminates wrinkles), it is therefore a very effective treatment when it comes to eliminating tics and muscle spasms. One or more injections into the forehead area approximately 12 weeks apart is typically recommended in order to achieve the desired results.

Migraine Treatment

Botox has even been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of chronic to severe migraines in adults. It is estimated that as many as 12% of all Americans experience migraines occasionally, and a good number of people are even plagued with them at least monthly. If you are one of them, a series of injections given approximately 12 weeks apart can help you ward off symptoms so that you experience migraines far less frequently, allowing you to enjoy a more normal lifestyle with fewer sick days.

Alleviating Excessive Sweating

Hyperhidrosis is a condition in which there is excessive underarm sweating. Botox treatment can successfully eliminate this condition so you are no longer embarrassed by it. It is an effective treatment because the ingredients in Botox block signals sent from the brain to your sweat glands so that the production of sweat is slowed to normal. A single injection can provide you with results for up to eight months, after which time you may have another injection if needed.

Eliminating Incontinence

Approximately 20% of those over 40 suffer from some form of incontinence. When Botox is injected into the bladder wall, incidents can be greatly reduced or eliminated. Even those who suffer from an overactive bladder will notice they do not feel the urge to urinate quite as often once they have received their Botox injection. An injection can provide relief for approximately six months, after which time the benefits may begin to gradually wear off.

As you can see, Botox can make you feel great in more ways than one. Even if you are not looking for a cosmetic treatment to eliminate wrinkles, you can still benefit from having a Botox treatment if you suffer from one or more of the above medical conditions.
