Here is an inspiring story that many of our Transgender patient’s can relate to. I’m sure most have heard the story of Jenna Talackova, the Canadian born Transgender women who competed for Canada’s Miss Universe pageant this year and was unlawfully disqualified for not “being a born a biological woman.” While this is a story about discrimination in the pageant world, this is also an inspiring story about how a beautiful transgender woman, over came the odds and changed the rules to give future transgender women a chance to be a beauty queen. Hopefully this indecent is just the beginning to change discriminatory regulations and shatter stereotypes by educating the public of situations such as these. Jenna’s case is an inspiration to us all.
