Do you Sweat? Clean that Skin or Get Clogged Pores

Although there are a great deal of benefits associated with regular exercise, one disadvantage is the fact that excessive sweat and perspiration can lead to the pores on the skin becoming clogged and infected, which can lead to unpleasant and often uncomfortable skin breakouts. This is because many people simply do not have the facilities or the time to freshen up completely after a gym workout, especially if they exercise during their lunch breaks.

Use Soothing Facial Wipes

Not enough time to wash your face properly after working out? By investing in some good quality facial wipes that are alcohol-free and that contain natural aloe vera, you will be able to cleanse your face naturally while on the run. Although many of the wipes are quite moist when you purchase them, it may be advisable to sprinkle them with a mineral water that contains witch hazel. This will not only moisturize your skin but will also ensure that any dirt that has collected on your skin while working out is removed. It is usually best to use these cleansing wipes while your skin is still hot from exercising, as this will ensure that any excess dirt is removed from the pores.

Exfoliate on a Regular Basis

Because people who engage in physical activity produce far more dead skin cells than those who don’t, it is very important for them to exfoliate their skin regularly, as it helps to ensure that excess oil and perspiration are not trapped under the dead skin cells. By exfoliating two to three times a week with a mild exfoliating product, you will be able to help prevent the occurrence of skin breakouts, especially during the hot and possibly humid summer months (depending on where you live). By using a cotton washcloth, and massaging your skin in gentle, circular motions, you will also be able to assist with the exfoliation process. Always take extra care and be gentle on the facial skin.

Cleanse Thoroughly Before Working Out

Although this may sound counter-intuitive, there is actually a good reason for cleansing your facial skin before working out. Many women wear cosmetic products such as make-up, foundations or other beauty products which can become trapped in the pores if they are not washed out before exercising. Once these substances are trapped in the pores, the skin then becomes the ideal breeding ground for germs and bacteria which not only clog the pores, but cause bad breakouts as well. By using a facial cleanser that is not harsh on the skin, you will be able to remove cosmetics and allow your skin to breathe freely during your workout sessions.

By ensuring that your skin is kept clean at all times, you will be able to greatly reduce the risk of unpleasant breakouts or even allergic reactions in some cases. Although our skin renews itself almost constantly, it is always wise to ensure that we do our part in taking good care of it.
