Rejuvenate Your Breasts

If age or pregnancy has robbed your breasts of their attractive shape and appearance, it may be time to consider a breast lift. A breast lift offers a way to reverse the effects that aging, pregnancy, and weight changes have on the breasts. Our team at The Spiegel Center in Newton, Massachusetts, can provide you with the uncompromising aesthetic care you’ve been searching for.

What Is A Breast Lift?

A breast lift is a surgical breast-enhancement procedure that is designed to address problems such as breast sagging, loss of shape, lack of symmetry, and wrinkling of the skin. A breast lift focuses on restoring a youthful breast shape by reshaping the breast tissue you have, and lifting the breasts so they sit higher on the chest. These techniques give the breasts a rounder and more attractive appearance.

A Minimally Invasive Breast Lift Alternative

In some cases, the experts at The Spiegel Center are able to use an advanced contouring technology that uses radiofrequency energy called BodyTite to achieve an excellent breast lift. When the breasts are suitable (B-cup or smaller), we can achieve a BodyTite breast lift under local anesthesia with only minor needle-sized incisions that do not even require stitches.

Am I A Good Candidate For A Breast Lift?

There are multiple factors that can lead to breast sagging and loss of breast shape. One of the most common is aging. As breast tissue ages, it loses strength and elasticity, which leads to sagging. The problem can be mild for some but can be very apparent in others, and it can occur prematurely for some people.

Some patients may have breasts that naturally droop once they fully develop. In some cases, this can lead to self-esteem issues due to feeling self-conscious over the appearance of their breasts. Pregnancy can also cause sagging and loss of breast shape. Some patients say that once they have had a child, their breasts simply don’t have the perky and youthful appearance they once did. Breastfeeding can exacerbate this.

Breast Lift Surgery Overview

A surgical breast lift is performed under general anesthesia. There are different techniques and approaches that can be used to accomplish a breast lift, based on the specific needs of the patient. How your breast lift is performed will be based on several factors that will be discussed during your consultation. A surgical plan will be developed based on the information gathered. This includes the degree of breast sagging, the amount of excess skin present, and your desired results.

Recovery After A Breast Lift

Swelling and bruising are to be expected after the procedure and should improve over the coming days. Some temporary discomfort may be felt during the initial phase of the recovery process. Most patients will need about one to two weeks of recovery before they can resume the majority of their normal daily activities.

More strenuous activities such as heavy lifting and exercise will need to be avoided for around six weeks. For the minimally invasive BodyTite breast lift, recovery is much quicker, though a support bra is still important.
