Are you considering traveling to Boston for surgery?  You are in good company.  Over 75% of our surgical patients travel to Boston for surgery.  We’ve been fortunate to have patients from countries all over the world including Canada, Mexico, England, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand and of course, the USA. 

Consultations
Complimentary phone and internet consultations are available for international and out-of-state patients.  We offer “virtual consultations” via Skype or iChat and phone consultations with the use of photos.  If you are interested in setting up a phone or internet consultation with Dr. Spiegel contact us at info@drspiegel.com.

For phone consultations please include three clear, well-lit photos of your face and neck (see example below).  Please include the best contact phone number, day, and time to reach you.  Our office will contact you to set up a time to discuss your goals, options, and questions with Dr. Spiegel (please note time zone differences when arranging a time). 

During your phone or internet consultation you will have an opportunity to speak directly with Dr. Spiegel, review any questions you have regarding surgery, and develop a surgical plan based on your lifestyle and goals.  Following your “visit” with Dr. Spiegel, the office will contact you to provide you with an itemized cost breakdown for surgery and review any questions that were not addressed with Dr. Spiegel (recovery, scheduling, travel, etc.).  Of course, while preparing for surgery-you should feel free to contact the office anytime.  We are happy to help you with your preparations for the big day!

Surgery
Patients are typically in Boston for ten days for their surgery.  Patients arrive two days before their surgery to get settled and visit with Dr. Spiegel prior to surgery.   During your pre-operative visit your surgical consent and questions are review.  If appropriate, a history & physical is also performed.  A post-op visit is scheduled 7 or 8 days after surgery and patients are free to return home after this appointment. Please do not book flights or hotel rooms until you have received a surgical confirmation letter.

There are a number of hotels within walking distance or a short taxi-ride to the hospital and we are happy to provide you with hotel information when booking your surgery.
