Personal Comment from Dr. Spiegel : “As I have performed more and more Facial Feminization Surgeries, and been invited to speak on the subject at several conferences, I have become increasingly proud of our ability to offer these procedures. Here in the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Boston Medical Center I can safely perform the most advanced facial surgery procedures in a comfortable and accepting environment. As one of very few surgeons who have extensive experience in FFS, I am pleased that our offices in Boston can reduce the need for so many people to travel across the country and around the world for similar services.” Here at Boston Medical Center, patients are able to enjoy the comfort and security of an academic hospital. Procedures Dr. Spiegel offers full Facial Feminization Surgery. Fundamentally, FFS consists of procedures that adjust facial shape and contour to achieve a more feminine appearance. While most of Dr. Spiegel’s patients are MTF, he has also worked with women who desire a more feminine, softer look and FTM. Dr. Spiegel has taken the techniques of the pioneer physicians and improved them to the safer and more effective surgical techniques he uses today. These new techniques not only allow patients to heal faster and more comfortably than in the past but in many cases, avoid the use of screws and plates without compromising the result. He is able to completely reconstruct the forehead bones, orbital rims and mandible using these techniques. Additional procedures like blepharoplasty, facelift, and cheek implants are often useful to help the eyes look bigger and reduce wrinkling and jowling. Dr. Spiegel is able to perform many of the FFS procedures through small incisions, which allow for a faster recuperation time and less scarring. link to TG conference websites: Before and after photo linkPlease contact Kelly for the username and password to view our before and after photos Helpful additionsThere are a number of programs available to make your post-operative stay in Boston more enjoyable.
