How to Approach Proper Wrinkle Prevention
As we grow older, many of us are concerned about the rapid decline of our outward appearance. Among the main areas of concern are usually our necks and faces, because they are the parts that are most susceptible to wrinkle formation. When it comes to wrinkle prevention, there are a few steps that can be taken that will reduce the appearance of existing ones as well as prevent new ones from forming.
In your 20s
During this part of our lives, many of us spend copious amounts of time out in the sun. Investing in a good quality sunscreen product that is also a moisturizer will help wrinkle prevention efforts substantially. For those who wish to take additional precautions, wearing wide-brimmed hats or choosing to stay out of the sun during the hottest times of the day can go a long way in preventing the formation of wrinkles around the eyes and on the neck.
During your 30s and 40s
Although some people are fortunate enough to have skin that doesn’t show signs of aging, not many of us fall into this category. At this time in our lives, our skin begins to lose its natural elasticity, which results in the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. While many people may claim that anti-aging creams are too expensive, using them after seeing the first signs of wrinkles can prevent them from becoming more prominent over time. Using a rejuvenating night cream can also assist with reducing the appearance of existing wrinkles, as well as aid with future wrinkle prevention.
Later in Life
While it may not always be possible to engage in wrinkle prevention after the age of 40, it is still possible to prevent existing facial lines from deepening. At this time, using a good quality rejuvenating cream in the morning and evening will help protect the fragile skin around the eyes, mouth and neck. It is also important to avoid using soap on your face, as this will cause the skin to dry out and become more wrinkled. Using either pure water or a cleansing product is usually the best way to remove make-up and impurities from facial and neck skin.
Additional Wrinkle Prevention Tips
One of the best ways to prevent the formation of unwanted wrinkles is to ensure that you drink plenty of water each day. This not only rids the body of unwanted toxins; it also keeps the skin hydrated and wrinkle-free. Consuming a diet rich in fresh, natural fruits and vegetables will also provide your skin with the antioxidants it requires to fight against wrinkle-forming free radicals. Limiting caffeine and alcohol intake while engaging in regular bouts of exercise will also help prevent the skin from drying and forming unattractive wrinkles.
When using anti-aging products, it is important to choose those that are derived from natural ingredients, as chemical products can also contribute to the formation of wrinkles, or cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. They should also be used regularly in order to for them to be effective.
