Home » 6 Plastic Surgeon Red Flags To Look Out For
There are a lot of surgeons and unlicensed surgeons out there that try to prey on those that might not really know any better when shopping for a specific plastic surgery procedure. When it comes to choosing the right plastic surgeon you have to keep your eyes and ears open for red flags. They are sometimes there you just have to know how to pick up on them. It is important that you do because the wrong red flag could be the difference of having a great experience or a horrible one.
Here are 6 red flags to look out for when trying to find the right plastic surgeon:
If your plastic surgeon is willing to go 50% less than everyone else you have spoken with it could mean something much else. There are a variety of fees that are required when a procedure is completed. Everything from operating room costs to supplies that can typically be similar for many surgeons.
Sure new surgeons make their entrance into the industry all the time and have to build up their portfolio but if your surgeon has been around for many years and there are no photos to thumb through there could be a much more important reason for that.
If a surgeon specializes only in facial plastics but they are trying to push body surgery on you this should not be taken lightly. Plastic surgeons usually have specialties which they stick to. Some do full body but if they don’t and they are trying to I would be weary.
When a plastic surgeon has access to a hospital for surgical procedures they have all their i’s dotted and t’s crossed when it comes to their qualifications on conducting plastic surgery. A surgeon without any hospital access could be carrying around some unwanted negative baggage.
Any ethical plastic surgeon will never push any unwanted procedures onto a patient. Discussing other options that might be helpful in conjunction to a patients goals is perfectly normal but pushing procedures that are not wanted by the patient is something to look out for.
The most important thing a plastic surgeon can do during the initial conversations is listen to what the patient wants. If they are not listening I would be weary about using them as your plastic surgeon.

An excellent, concise list! I would add: they are offering you a product or service which isn’t listed in any literature or procedures list in the office or on their website. This is true especially if the product is outside their area of expertise! The pricing may also be too high.
