Botox Is Not A Swear Word

Dec 16th, 2010No Comments

You know that look of disgust or shock when you say something to someone who just doesn’t agree with you about something? Well I still see that look on people’s face when you say the word “Botox”. Why is this? Are people scared of it? Do they not approve of plastic surgery by means of facial injections? What is it about the word Botox that scares people?  Just to clear the air Botox is a brand and it doesn’t refer to all wrinkle treatments and injections that a person might apply to their face.

Cosmetic plastic surgery is still an area where people like to be secretive in order to not offend others who might not completely agree with it. Why people view Botox almost like a swear word is beyond me. People want to feel rejuvenated and fresh. Unfortunately we all age whether we like to admit or not and we show signs of aging in our face and our skin. For some of us the blow of aging works against our self-esteem a bit hard than others which is why some people enjoy turning to synthetic solutions to make them feel better. Why is this such a taboo for many cultures or groups of people? Numerous studies and research have deemed products like Botox 100% safe to use yet people are still hesitant to completely accept the treatment into society. Cosmetic plastic surgery is making its way into more of a main stream position every single day. With television shows like Bridalplasty which shine a light on the cosmetic surgery industry and show that more people are interested in improving their own looks and feeling better about themselves than some might think. There has even been evidence that the first lady has used cosmetic surgery to improve her looks.
