According to Modern Medicine the cosmetic surgery industry will double by the year 2017. It has been moving up to this point very rapidly and there are no obvious signs of things slowing down. As time pushes forward procedures become more streamlined and less evasive leaving the desired outcome much more attainable for the average person. More and more physicians and doctors are starting to embrace not only the cosmetic aspects of surgery but also the therapeutic for patients who have a medical condition that requires a special type of attention.

“The market for cosmetic surgery, facial aesthetics and lasers is expected to almost double in size and to exceed $3 billion over the next seven years, according to iData Research, a pharmaceutical market research firm based in Vancouver, British Columbia, PRNewswire reports.”

It is pretty clear that more and more of society really wants to improve on their looks for a variety of reasons. Of course it is up to the plastic surgeon to really determine whether a person truly needs any procedure completed but many people in society feel that some improvements can be made on certain areas of their bodies. Nobody forces anyone to have a consultation and nobody demands a patient comes aboard for any procedure. Society has shaped a path for people to take whether they want to or not. The reality is that it is growing easier for people to receive any sort of cosmetic procedures and many are taking advantages of the possibilities. Why should anyone be denied the choice to feel better about themselves?

“The U.S. market for aesthetic facial injectable products is valued at nearly $860 million now, according to the report. It adds that use of botulinum toxin is likely to increase due to the expected introduction of PurTox (Mentor), and also to a growing number of therapeutic possibilities.”

Procedures like Botox injections have been able to have a variety of different positive outcomes like curing chronic headaches and help with vision from sagging skin.
